Engineering Services
We offer various engineering services to companies and other departments from Belgian Defence in the fields related to explosions (structural effects of explosion, protection of structure against blast and fragment impacts). Depending on the application, this can be tests performed in our bunker facility at RMA, or tests carried out outdoors. Among the available services, we have the ISO 17025 accredited Pyroshock test for Defence and Space applications.

Pyroshock Test
The Pyrotechnical shock, known as “Pyroshock”, is a dynamic structural shock that arises when an explosion or impact occurs on a structure. In order to assess the ability of sensitive and critical equipment to withstand the effects of an explosion, pyroshock tests need to be performed. They aim to reproduce in a lab environment the same levels of shock that the tested component would actually be subjected to in real life, for example during the separation of two stages of a multistage rocket. Pyroshock testing is of particular relevance to the defence and aerospace industries. It has been standardized in both military domain (US military standard MIL-STD-810) and space domain (NASA standard NASA-STD-7003A). In addition, the pyroshock test performed at RMA is accredited according to ISO 17025 .
